RAMH’s Self-Management team is a small team of workers and peer volunteers who are raising the awareness and knowledge around self-management and Recovery in mental health for individuals in both East Renfrewshire and Renfrewshire. We are keen to recruit to the team, a Peer Support Worker (PSW) which is funded through the Alliance Scotland and is to recruit, support, train and mentor a group of 12 Peer Volunteers. The PSW needs to have a lived experience of mental health and an understanding of mental ill health. You will need to demonstrate a clear understanding and ability to put into practice self-management skills.
The position requires a minimum of 2 years qualification and it is desirable to have a minimum of a HNC/SVQ 3 in relevant Health or Social Care or equivalent, or willingness to work towards this. You should understand the role of the SSSC in developing staff and the Care Inspectorate in regulating services.
This is a challenging role and an excellent opportunity for someone wishing to gain experience in day services and be supported and developed by RAMH.
