The First Crisis Service (based in Paisley) provides immediate support and crisis intervention to people experiencing mental health problems across Renfrewshire. We are looking for staff with a sound experience of supporting mental health issues. You will gain valuable experience in crisis work and develop your knowledge in crisis interventions. The service provides support via telephone and by face to face contact with clients. This is an opportunity to get additional training and experience in this unique area. We can offer a variety of shifts. The service operates 9am-8pm on Monday to Friday and 9am-5pm Saturday and Sunday.
You will assist a Senior Crisis Support worker in the assessment, intervention and resolution of crisis situations. Excellent verbal communication skills are essential, as is the ability to keep clear and concise written records of your client contact. Applicants are required to have experience of supporting people in the community who experience mental health problems and we require resilient staff who can problem solve. This is a good opportunity to get experience working with a specialist crisis team.
