The Crisis Support Service Manager provides management and leadership of RAMH Crisis Services.

The main function is FIRST Crisis which delivers an immediate and short-term response to people in Renfrewshire who are experiencing an emotional or mental health crisis.  The team provide this through telephone support, complemented by appointments and domiciliary support as required. We aim to support people to recover from periods of crisis, reduce distress and gain control in their life. The FIRST Crisis service operates 365 days, Mon-Fri 9am-8pm and Sat-Sun 9am-5pm.The Manager will support the service over the week and part of the requirement is to support the team on an agreed rota. In addition, the ‘Hear for You’ Service provides the people of Renfrewshire a Freephone helpline from Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm.  This helpline can support, guide and signpost people to immediate support to alleviate any issues that they are experiencing.

Both these services have strong statutory and third sector partner networks which contribute to providing safer and supportive communities.

We are seeking to appoint a highly organised and motivated individual to lead this unique service.  You will require an in-depth understanding of mental health issues, risk assessment, crisis resolution and management and an awareness of co-morbidity issues would be helpful.  You must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to maintain and promote solid working relationships with our partners in the public and third sectors.

The successful applicant must also demonstrate ability to manage staffing and rota systems, as well as ensuring continuity and quality of service provision through 1-1 supervision and audit processes. It is also a requirement of the role to provide regular reports on service uptake, quality and outcome measurement. You will need to be familiar with leading staff to support risk and planning risks management strategies and there will be an expectation to lead in distress brief interventions and trauma informed practice.

The minimum qualification for this post is at least SCQF level 9 Social Work, RMN, OT, SVQ4 in Health & Social Care (Adults) or a degree equivalent in a relevant area.  It is desirable to have or be able to work towards a management qualification which RAMH will support.
