RAMH FIRST CRISIS is seeking to recruit a Peer Recovery Worker (PRW) to support individuals experiencing a crisis in their mental health. The PRW will work within the ongoing FIRST Crisis ‘Alcohol and Drugs test of change project’ supporting individuals in crisis who are using alcohol and/or drugs.
This work will build on the existing work of the FIRST Crisis team, identifying individuals accessing the service who would benefit from additional support from the PRW. The post holder would link individuals into community activities, signposting and upskilling individuals with financial management in light of ongoing ‘cost of living crisis’, exploring support re. employability as required. The PRW would liaise with service partners encouraging multi-agency working and it is hoped the addition of the PRW would increase the service reach into a wider community, including families.
Ideally, the post holder should have lived experience of recovery and have a good understanding of the barriers to recovery. A clear understanding of stigma and discrimination and how this can impact on an individual’s recovery would also be advantageous.
The FIRST Crisis service operates 365 days, Mon-Fri 9am-8pm and Sat-Sun 9am-5pm. However the Peer Recovery worker will support the service over the week on an agreed rota.
For further information or an informal chat about this innovative and exciting post, please telephone Rachel Brown, Crisis Support Services Manager on 0141 847 8900. Visits to RAMH can be arranged.
