RAMH Renfrewshire Community Services work in Partnership to provide a range of holistic group and individual supports to enable people on their recovery journey. Renfrewshire Community Support provide a range of specialist and practical support services including employability, community-based groups and individual support. We are recruiting volunteers who will support our ongoing work, empowering individuals to be more involved in the self- management of their own mental health. We are looking to recruit enthusiastic individuals with a lived experience of mental health issues who can identify and demonstrate the personal skills and attributes gained from their own personal journey of recovery. We are looking for ‘Experts by Experience’. As a Peer Volunteer with Physical Activity, you would be supporting individuals to aid their own self-management skills by encouraging physical activity as a therapeutic technique to improve their mental health and overall wellbeing. There are a number of group and 1:1 supports you may be asked to get involved with, but the majority of work will be focused on our walking and swimming groups. This would involve providing support to facilitate or co-facilitate the groups with the workers form our Physical Activity team. This role would be for a period of 12 months.
Training: Appropriate training including induction will be given as well as “on the job” training, individual development training, feedback and supervision.
