53 year late library book donation to go towards RAMH Cookalong
£20 inside a book that was returned to Paisley Central Library 53 years after it was due back has been donated to RAMH.
The copy of Mrs Balbir Singh's Indian Cookery was returned to the library anonymously with £20 included within it's pages, presumably pre-empting what would be a hefty late fine. As Renfrewshire Leisure are not imposing fines for the returns of overdue books, the money was chosen to be donated to RAMH.
Since it is a cookery book, RAMH staff thought it was appropriate that the money go towards our monthly "self-management cookalong", a group where service users learn more about easy to prepare, low cost, healthy meal options. The money will fund something special at next month's cookalong as that will be the last one delivered during the self-management project.
We would like to thank the anonymous doner for the honesty and kindness.
